About the Oakland Streetcar Plan
About the Plan
The Oakland Streetcar Plan explores the potential for a streetcar system as an engine of economic development and smart growth in Oakland, and offers a “road map” toward its successful implementation. This plan was created out of a nine month long independent study project at Stanford University and received $1,275 in research funding from the Stanford Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education. This plan consulted numerous public agencies and professional firms, but is an independent grassroots project and is not affiliated with the city of Oakland or any businesses or organizations.
